When should you use Allfarm Benzicare?

Benzicare is useful in sheep and lambs with worms that are sensitive to white / BZ drenches. This includes mature and immature mebendazole-sensitive roundworms, lungworms and tapeworms:

  • Barber’s pole worm (Haemonchus contortus)
  • Black scour worm (Trichostrongylus spp.)
  • Hookworm (Bunostomum trigonocephalum)
  • Intestinal threadworm (Strongyloides papillosus)
  • Large bowel worm (Oesophagostomum venulosum)
  • Large lungworm (Dictyocaulus filaria)
  • Large-mouthed bowel worm (Chabertia ovina)
  • Nodule worm (Oesophagostomum columbianum)
  • Stomach hair worm (Trichostrongylus axei)
  • Small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia / Teladorsagia spp.)
  • Small intestinal worm (Cooperia spp.)
  • Tapeworm (Moniezia spp.)
  • Thin-necked intestinal worm (Nematodirus spp.)

Benzicare can also help reduce worm egg output in parasites where mebendazole-resistance may exist. Resistance may develop to any drench. Ask your local veterinary practitioner or animal health advisor for recommended parasite management practices for your area to reduce development to resistance. It is advisable that a drench resistance test be conducted before any drench is used.
